From Her Lips

You may not have heard of me, but you probably have heard me on the radio, on television, in a narration, an animation, or on a video game. I've voiced thousands of audio productions and am currently heard on Ballet Austin's commercials, KingsIsle Entertainment's Wizard101and Pirate101, Nintendo's Metroid Prime 3 and Daybreak Games DC Universe Online. My favorite character is Tails in Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie. That's why I love this business; one day I can be the spokesperson for a major arts organization and the next day be a super hero sidekick, or a wise, all-knowing computer, or a professor of wizards or an evil grandma who kicks butt!

Over the past 35 years I've worked for the largest advertising company in Austin, Texas, with the only local talent agency specializing in voiceover, and for Austin's leading commercial recording studio. Plus, I've taught voiceover technique to thousands of actors and produced hundreds of voice demos.  I have been an adjunct professor at St. Edwards University teaching voiceover to acting students.  I even wrote a college textbook on voice-acting published by McGraw Hill.  I know the voice talent industry from every angle and can give students that competitive edge over those who are what I call a "one voice pony."

I found this in a fortune cookie once and I've kept it to this day:
"Talents that are not shared are not talents."

That's why I teach—so many people had come to me for advice that I knew that I had to share my talent, knowledge, experience and passion to help them follow their dream and find their voice. Being a talent is thrilling but helping other talents reach their full potential is my greatest reward.
