Workshops

Join Lainie and a small group of no more than six classmates for an intensive weekend of voice-over! All classes are held at The VoiceWorks Studio in Austin, Texas.  All workshops are Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am. to 7:00 p.m. Each weekend session is $400 with $200 up-front as a non-refundable/non-transferable deposit and the remaining $200 due at the beginning of the workshop.

Commercials

 

"Build Character" Commercial Radio VO Workshop

A great beginner's class where you will learn the basics of voice-over working with characters as well as spokesperson roles in radio commercials.  For beginning students.

Everyone will be starting at the same place when it comes to voiceover.  You'll receive training in commercial voiceover technique and then you'll have a chance to record multiple scripts in the studio with direction and playback.  Your voice will be analyzed so you can discern your vocal type.  On Sunday we will hold mock auditions followed by a discussion period to answer all your questions about the commercial market.

Animation/Gaming

"Voices in My Head" Animation/Gaming VO Workshop

Have fun learning the techniques for animation and gaming projects.  For intermediate level students. Students must have completed the prerequisite beginner's commercial workshop.

 

Students will be building off the techniques learned in the commercial class and receive training in voiceover technique for animation and gaming projects.  Class involves playing games and improvisation.  Then, you'll have a chance to record multiple scripts in the studio with direction and playback.  Also on Sunday, we will hold mock auditions followed by a discussion period to answer all your questions about the animation and gaming market.

Industrial/Narration

"Go the Distance" Industrial/Narration VO Workshop

Master the technique for narrating long format industrial projects including audio books.  For intermediate level students. Students must have completed the prerequisite beginner's commercial workshop.

Students will be building off the techniques learned in the commercial class and receive training in voiceover technique for corporate projects and audiobooks.  Then, you'll have a chance to record multiple scripts in the studio with direction and playback.  On Sunday students may bring their own material for an audio book segment.  Also on Sunday, we will hold mock auditions followed by a discussion period to answer all your questions about the industrial market.
